Chics and Ducks and (No Geese) Better Scurry

These are my chicks, Blackie and Red,  Goldie was camera shy.  Blackie's real name is Tiger Lilly and Red is really Ranbutan.  Goldie, not pictured, is Sassafras.  Lovely names, but they are not fussy, they usually just respond to the sound of the door opening as food is brought to them.  Most of their day they are in a pen, but when they are out, they come running.  They don't mind which names we give them, they only like us for food.  Humph.

The ducks are a completely different story.  I was looking out the back window at the wild back area of our property and there, sweetly walking together were Mr. and Mrs. Mallard.  I quickly snapped some pictures but sun and shade were not very helpful.

As for geese..no geese and no surrey.   But I still like the song.

As for scurry?  Isn't that the way some Saturdays fly by?  I "scurried" all day,  working about the house in the morning, going to water aerobics, shopping for groceries, and helping at my friend's new bakery*.  All on a lovely spring Saturday.

*More about the bakery in another post to come.

Merry scurrying,
Mary

  1. I can watch birds and critters all day long, in fact, I'm going to wash windows today so I can get a better look at the baby bunny living behind the house.
There's a GBE2 link on my blog that leads to a great group of bloggers. They post their links on a facebook page and, when the spirit moves them, they write posts loosely based on a weekly theme. Click on over and join us if you'd like. The page say's it's a closed group -it's not. Just say hi I'm new. :)

    1. That is so nice of you. Thanks for the invite to find more bloggers. This is becoming fun! As for critters, I love to watch for them. I keep a ready eye while driving and looking out the back windows at home, too. Oh ya, windows. Well maybe I'll wash them this summer.

    1. Thank you, my daughter wanted the chicks originally, it's all her fault. The other sister chicks are Posie, McDonald and Baby Spice. Thanks for the visit. Mary
