Hooray for Muscle

See there... 3,459th on the left.....there he is...get ready to wave and cheer.

Actually, these are all pictures from Google Images, of past Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. This years is going on now  and yes, my brother is out there....somewhere.

I love the up an down hill of Iowa...I'm also happy that it's not me trying to cycle those hills in the hot, hot, hot weather.

Americana, Midwest, heat, cycle and muscle are my keywords for this post. Hahhahaa did I already say, glad it's not me.

Best to you brother.

Merry great Americana July ride.  I'm going to the pool, Mary

  2. That's awesome! Your brother is very dedicated. I don't think I'd have the stamina for something like that.

  3. I've always heard about this ride across Iowa. Your up and down rolling roads make it a real challenge I'm sure and it looks like the heat is a living thing in these photos!

BTW, thanks for following me Mary. I'm needing to do some updating on my blog real seriously and I'll return the favor when I do.

We have the BRAG here! Bike Ride Across Georgia!
I did it one year. They had it in the southern part of Ga. where it's pretty flat. Rode across state from Columbus to Savannah, but I found in the south part - there are still hilly parts! You'd never notice them in a car - but on a bike--- weeeeeeeee!
what a wonderful event your brother has taken part in!! You should do it with him next year??

  26. Hi Mary! Oh, these snaps looks marvelous! I'm so in awe of the strength and endurance it must take to do this, especially up hill! :) My husband is a runner and he's so addicted to it. He went out this morning at 5am to beat the heat! :)

  27. My brother-in-law is from Iowa. I had no idea that there were any rolling hills like this. I can't imagine that biking across them and right out in the open sun would be too much fun. All the best to your brother.
