1.  Sweaters

2.  Socks

3.   Soup

There you have it...the 3 S's of cold weather.
Hummmmm there could be more things to do, but for now...that's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Merry weather,  Mary

  1. It looks like we are going to see some winter weather before we head back to Florida! It's getting cold here in the mountains of NC this weekend! We had pumpkin soup for lunch today! Where are those sweaters and socks?

  2. im bracing myself for the dip in temperatures this coming week! oversized sweaters, knee high socks and piping hot soup, here i come!!!

  3. It's warmer there than here!!!

Love the sox, they look so warm and snuggly.

Once the snow stays away I don't mind
    Fiona no like snow!

Take care and stay warm Mary
    and enjoy your weekend too.

    x Fiona

  4. Lieben Gruß und einen Tag voll Glück

  5. A perfect recipe for a cold day! I wish we were that cold, but we're only in the 60s today. It's better than 85 though!

  6. Our temperatures have suddenly dropped here and I do not approve! Not that mom nature cares a bit for my opinion.

  7. Wow, it gets cold there quick huh? It is much too hot here in southeastern North Cackalacky for my likin', so we always visit the snow somewhere in the winter time.

  8. Excellent ideas Mary! Our temps dropped too and we are loving the remedies of tea, soup and blankets!! ENJOY! Anita

  9. Sweater, Socks and Soup!!
I LIKE what that leads up to ---> COLD!!

  10. Hey, don't forget the 4th S, Snuggies, and the fifth Snuggles.

  11. We are having very similar temps and lots of rain as well! I'm not minding it too much though...

    Hope your weekend is good!

  12. That soup looks good - you are having about the same temps as us.

  13. Our temps have dropped and I'm loving it! I have sweaters out to wear with flip flops. LOL Hopefully it will get cool enough for my boots, then I'll be a happy girl. :)

  14. I've had the worst dilemma since I did laundry. I washed my wool slippers. I've had to make due with just socks. The horror!

  15. Those socks look so cozy! What about s for scarves? C for cocoa, cardigans, coats, and chicken pot pie? T for tea, turkey, turtlenecks and tomato soup?

  16. Agreed - nothing cozier than a big sweater, wool socks and some warming soup!

  17. Good morning Mary!

I am sitting here lucky to have power in my home, reading about our friends on the east coast suffering power outages and other disastrous events due to the storm. I hope you are well, but I suspect you are in the same area of your sister, so you should be safe.

Thank you for visiting and your kind message; yes, I love to create as much of a gentle world as possible on my blog; we need an uplifting place from time to time!

BE WELL and I hope you enjoy the remains of fall! Anita

  18. I'm thinking soup for dinner tonight! It's gotten so cold and windy w/ this storm passing through.

  19. I wouldn't mind snuggling my toes in those socks right now...cold here.

  20. Yep, I just pulled out my sweaters, jackets and coats...and I made a huge pot of soup on Sunday. Guess that means I'm ready for the drop of temps here!
