Piano

He may object to being included in my post...however, only people that already know him could recognize him in this photo at the piano.

Also, people that know him know he likes to be at the piano, especially a lovely grand.  This is a student recital.  I know he looks older than most students.  He began piano in college.  Now he plays piano every opportunity he can make.

He began his interest, but refused lessons, as a youngster.  My mom always said,  "come here and let me show you some piano"....and it caught him.  Now he is the only grandchild to become a pianist.

Do you play an instrument?
Do you play on a grand piano....occasionally, never, would like to, or play regularly?
Were you like Frankie Heck who quit piano lessons when they asked her to use two hands?

Merry music,  Mary

  5. How amazing! I would love to hear him play! My husband and I both play the piano and I was going to get out a stack of Christmas music today to place on the end of the piano to play during the holidays. Nothing grand about our playing...but we enjoy it!

  7. Unless he reads your blog he will never know, but you only share because you are proud of him and rightly so.

  8. I took piano lessons as a kid because my mom always wanted to play it. I play around a little with a keyboard but I'm not very good but enjoy playing for myself.
When I lived in Scotland I learned to play the bagpipes. Don't play them anymore though.

  13. Oh Mary, I can relate. My father was a piano teacher and wanted to teach me since I was around 5. I REFUSED! I danced instead, for years and as a child, I would open up the lid to his piano and STUM the harp mechanism on his piano. Oh how that irritated him! And it wasn't until I was 42 that I took up the harp! Now I play for my enjoyment and if daddy was alive, I think he would be proud.

THANK YOU FOR COMING to visit and yes, middle school is pretty slick. The 7th graders are my favorite!

Have a grand day dearest, Anita
